PRODUCT WARNINGS:

Do not use:- for children under 18 years of age.- if allergic to esomeprazole.- if allergic to any other proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole, rabeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole).- if you are taking antiretroviral medicines, such as atazanavir.- if you are taking cilostazol a medicine used to treat pain and/or cramping in the lower leg (or arms) due to inadequate blood flow to the muscles.- if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed.- -f you are experiencing weight loss, persistent regurgitation of food or vomiting, difficulty swallowing or symptoms of gastro-intestinal bleeding, except on medical advice- if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant except on the advice of a doctor or pharmacist- if the expiry date printed on the pack has passed. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before use if you:- have or ever have had serious liver disease.- are taking digoxin (a medicine used to treat heart problems).- are taking ketoconazole (a medicine used to treat fungal infections)- are taking clopidogrel or warfarin (medicines used to stop the blood clotting)- are taking other medicines regularlyThis preparation is for the relief of minor and temporary ailments and should be used strictly as directed. Nexium 24HR 20 mg enteric coated tablets for the lasting symptomatic relief of frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux.

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.

Always read the label, use only as directed. Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you notice any of the following and they worry you: nausea or vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, headache, wind, stomach pain, skin rash, itchy skin, dizziness or dry mouth. These side effects are usually mild. Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including any that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop. Some medicines may interfere with Nexium 24HR. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are pregnant unless your doctor says so. Ask your doctor about the risks and benefits involved. It is not known if it is safe for you to take Nexium 24HR while you are pregnant. It may affect your baby. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are breastfeeding. Ask your doctor for more information. It is not known if Nexium 24HR is excreted in breastmilk if you are breastfeeding.

Esomeprazole (Nexium) is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat and to prevent certain types of stomach and acid reflux. Esomeprazole is also used to treat duodenal ulcers caused by the travellers' diarrhoea virus. It works in the stomach and duodenum to reduce the amount of acid that is produced. Esomeprazole should be taken every 24 hours (daily tablet) as needed for up to 14 days, with no more than one tablet per day. Esomeprazole can take the form of repeated courses of treatment, however it is not recommended to repeat them more often. Esomeprazole should not be taken more often than once a day. Esomeprazole is most effective when you are sexually active. If you have had treatment for duodenal ulcers for esomeprazole use.

S. in February of this year and is available through AstraZeneca Pharmacy, the largest retailer in the U. With an average retail price of $14.99 per tablet, Nexium, which was introduced in 2002, has a retail price of $9.99 per tablet. Nexium is the most commonly used antacid for heartburn and acid reflux, sold at a retail price of $5.00. The retail price is $17.99 per tablet.
